Zanzibar President, Dr Hussein Mwinyi, has opened a freight forwarding and logistics office in Guangzhou, China, to strengthen transportation between China and Tanzania. The office, owned by Silent Ocean Company, has been transporting goods from China to Tanzania since 2004. Dr Mwinyi expressed his hope that the office would increase trade cooperation and create more jobs. He also encouraged Chinese investors to invest in Zanzibar. The opening of the office is seen as an opportunity for Tanzanian companies and individuals to develop business cooperation with China.
