Volvo Cars has partnered with logistics service providers Maersk, Kuehne+Nagel, and DB Schenker to switch to renewable fuel for its container transports. It is the first global carmaker to make this switch, reducing fossil CO2 emissions by 55,000 tonnes per year. The renewable fuel used is Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAME), sourced mainly from waste cooking oil.
