The UAE has become India's fourth-largest investor, with foreign direct investment (FDI) from the UAE jumping three-fold from $1.03bn to $3.35bn in 2022-23, said the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. The UAE has invested mainly in services, sea transport, power and construction activities, as well as the Indian infrastructure and renewable energy sectors. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), signed on 18 February 2022 and effective from 1 May 2022, has played an important role in the increase. Singapore, Mauritius and the US are the top FDI investors in India.
