A roll-on and roll-off (RORO) service called Trucks-on-Train has been launched on the dedicated freight corridor between New Palanpur and New Rewari stations in India. The service, which transports milk and cattle feed, was flagged off last week in the presence of the Gujarat Assembly Speaker and Chairman of Banas Dairy, Asia’s largest cooperative dairy, Shankar Chaudhary. Gujarat Cooperative Milk Federation and DFCCIL have joined forces to carry dairy products as part of the agreement. Trucks-on-Train has been started with 25 loaded trucks from either side of the dedicated freight corridor daily to carry milk tankers and cattle feed.
