Shiv-Sena MP Rajan Vichare has successfully secured administrative approval of Rs. 100 crore for the construction of jetties at four locations in Thane to promote water transport and address pollution caused by traffic congestion. The jetty at Kolshet has received Rs 36 crore for development, with permits issued. Additional amenities such as a waiting hall and passageway have been built, and Vichare has requested water sports and ferry boats for tourists. The project, initiated in 2018 with central government support, aims to prioritize local employment opportunities.
