Tariff Roadblock at DFC - Fortune India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed concern during a review meeting in August 2020 about the delays in the implementation of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) project. The completion deadline for the eastern and western DFCs had been deferred to June 2022. After follow-ups by railway ministers Piyush Goyal and Ashwini Vaishnaw, progress has been made, with seven out of 13 sections now operational. However, there is a need for policy reforms and clarity on issues such as the tariff structure to ensure the success of the project.
