Swiggy, an Indian on-demand convenience platform, has announced its acquisition of LYNK Logistics, a tech-driven retail distribution company. LYNK operates a network of over 100,000 retail stores across eight Indian cities and uses its proprietary technology platform for the distribution of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG). This marks Swiggy's entry into India's food and grocery retail market, estimated to be valued at over $570bn. LYNK will continue to operate independently under the leadership of its co-founder and CEO. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
