Sri Lanka port tariffs to be revised - India Shipping News

The Sri Lanka Ports Development Authority (SLPA) is set to raise tariffs to increase revenue and improve efficiency. The SLPA's total revenue for the first four months of 2023 was Rs. 26.79 billion, with the majority coming from stevedoring and navigation. The Ports and Shipping Minister revealed that a consortium of investors, led by China Merchants Port Holdings, will invest $392 million to build a South Asia Commercial and Logistics Hub in the port of Colombo. The Colombo port's handling capacity will be increased to 35 million TEU with the completion of various projects.
