The Saudi Ports Authority, also known as Mawani, has added 20 new shipping services to boost supply chains and strengthen its position as a global logistics center. These new services connect the ports in Jeddah, Dammam, and Jubail with other global ports for trade and export. The authority aims to cement Saudi Arabia's position as an international logistics hub and improve operational performance. The ports saw increases in container handling, ship traffic, foodstuff, and passenger numbers. The authority also entered into a partnership with Saudi Post to improve the logistics sector using advanced technologies. Efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and improve efficiency are also underway.
