RBI data: Aviation sector witnesses 41 per cent increase in gross credit deployment; highest in 21 months - BusinessLine

Indian banks have seen a significant increase in credit deployment to the aviation sector, with a year-on-year jump of 41.3% in May, according to the Reserve Bank of India. The total outstanding credit reached Rs 31,628 crore in May 2023, the highest in 21 months. This growth is attributed to investments in the sector and a rebound in traffic. ICRA predicts a steady rise in credit deployment for the next year as the industry continues to recover.
