- Indian Railways achieved 134 MT of originating freight loading in May 2023, a 2% improvement from last year's 131.50 MT.
- Freight revenue of Rs. 14641.83 crore was earned in May 2023, a 4% improvement from May 2022.
- From April to May 2023, cumulative freight loading was 260.28 MT, a 3% improvement from the same period last year.
- Indian Railways earned Rs 28512.46 crore from April to May 2023, a 5% improvement from last year's earnings for the same period.
- Coal had the highest freight loading at 65.89 MT in May 2023, followed by Iron Ore at 15.23 MT and cement at 13.20 MT.
- The customer-centric approach and work of Business Development Units helped Indian Railways improve service delivery and achieve these results.
