Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the priority section of India's first regional rapid transport corridor, RapidX, which will connect major parts of the National Capital Region. The 17-kilometer primary section of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor will have an operational speed of 160km/hr. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), responsible for the project, has announced that more women employees will be involved in the operations of this section than men, breaking established gender norms in the transport sector. The entire Delhi-Meerut corridor is expected to be completed by June 2025.
