The Panama Canal Authority aims to maintain a draught of 13.41m for the remainder of the year and part of 2024 due to unpredictable weather patterns. The number of vessels transiting the Canal per day will be reduced from 36 to 32. Neopanamax transit capacity will remain largely unchanged at an average of 10 daily transits. The Panama Canal Authority has introduced a new booking condition to alleviate congestion for ships already in queue. Despite limitations, demand remains high causing increased waiting times.
