Outlook for Turkmenistan as Eurasia’s Transport Hub - Modern Diplomacy

Turkmenistan is preparing to launch an international transit corridor connecting Iran, Iraq, and Turkey as part of the East-West international transport corridor. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced the country's favorable geographical location and improved infrastructure as advantages for becoming a regional transportation hub. The move comes in response to Western countries bypassing Russia in transportation and logistics projects in Eurasia. Geopolitical tensions and sanctions have weakened transport links between East and West, leading to the need for alternative transit routes.
