Geneva-based MSC has acquired a majority stake in Milan-based air freight carrier AlisCargo Airlines. The deal is a step towards MSC's goal of acquiring 100% ownership of AlisCargo Airlines by early 2024. The acquisition will help expand MSC's air cargo operations and create a European gateway and transit point. MSC Air Cargo plans to enhance its trade lane network with better coverage and flexibility. The majority selling party is the Leali Group, led by Domenico Alcide Leali. MSC Air Cargo operates two aircraft and plans to add two more in the next six months.
