India's cumulative services and merchandise exports are expected to exceed $760bn with the introduction of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023. The policy includes measures to streamline procedures, integrate technology, reduce processing times for authorizations and encourage e-commerce exports. The policy will help the government realise its $2tn export target for 2030 by providing global platforms for product and services at the district level. Merchanting trade has been introduced and the policy recognises cross-border e-commerce exports and establishes e-commerce export hubs.
