Middle Eastern carriers experienced a 6.8% decrease in cargo volumes in April 2023, compared to the previous month. However, capacity increased by 10%. The decline could be attributed to adjusting to the recovery in passenger demand and the increase in belly capacity. Despite challenges, industry experts believe the Middle East will be one of the fastest-growing airline markets in the next decade due to economic transformations and the growth of aviation in Africa and Turkey. Investments in infrastructure and cooperation among Gulf Cooperation Council countries are expected to support cargo growth in the region.
