However, the cost of logistics remains high compared to other countries, primarily due to the reliance on road transport, which is the most expensive mode. Efforts are being made to promote the use of waterways, particularly Inland Water Transport (IWT), to reduce the carbon footprint. The Northeast region faces challenges in logistics due to limited access points and lack of industries. States in the region need to collaborate to create a cohesive economic zone and improve the logistics landscape.
