Logistics companies Kuehne+Nagel and Lufthansa Cargo are introducing "paperless lanes" to connect Europe and Asia in an effort to streamline operations and reduce paper usage. The collaboration aims to optimize the air freight process, improve efficiency, and contribute to sustainability efforts in the industry. The pilot phase achieved 100% paperless shipments for general cargo on the Germany-Hong Kong lane. The companies plan to expand paperless lanes to cover more routes, eliminating the need for paper transport documentation. Other industry players are encouraged to join the initiative.
