The Kerala Maritime Board is considering developing coastal cargo shipping with the support of the Gujarat Maritime Board, ahead of the upcoming operations of the Vizhinjam deep sea port in India. The chairman of the Kerala Maritime Board held discussions with officials from the Gujarat Maritime Board to explore the possibility of improving cargo traffic from the Mundra Port to Vizhinjam. The Gujarat Maritime University's job-oriented courses were also discussed, with the possibility of offering similar courses at maritime institutes in Kerala.
