Jaya Verma Sinha becomes first woman Railway Board Chairperson and CEO - BusinessLine

Jaya Verma Sinha has made history by becoming the first woman Chairperson and CEO of the Railway Board, the top decision-making body of the Indian Railways. Sinha, currently the Member (Operations and Business Development) of the Railway Board, will assume her new position on September 1, 2023. During her tenure, the Indian Railways saw a record growth in the freight segment and achieved over 1.5 billion tonnes of freight annually. Sinha's tenure as Chairperson will end on December 31, 2024.
