Logistics and supply chain managers had hoped for a recovery in global trade and supply chains in 2022, but ongoing geopolitical shifts, shortages, and climate issues have hindered progress. As a result, US logistics managers are seeing a diversification of the Asian network of supply chains, with China experiencing the most significant shift. This "China plus" strategy includes over 40 countries in Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. Major contenders in this strategy, relevant to US logistics managers, include India, the Gulf region, and Vietnam. India has made progress in modernizing its logistics, including a unified digital platform and competitive logistics costs. The UAE and Saudi Arabia are investing heavily in transport and logistics infrastructure to secure their positions in world trade and supply chains. Vietnam, with its proximity to China, has emerged as a natural alternative and has expanded its supply chain industry.
