Indian Railways Introduces Discounted Fare Scheme for AC Sitting ... - The Weekend Leader

The Union Railways Ministry has announced a new discounted fare scheme for AC sitting trains as a way to optimize accommodation utilization. The scheme will be applicable in AC Chair Car and Executive classes of all trains with AC sitting accommodation, up to a maximum discount of 25% on the basic fare. The discount will be based on occupancy, and if occupancy is below 50%, the flexi fare scheme may be withdrawn initially. The scheme will not apply to special trains introduced for holidays or festivals.
