A 64-year-old Singaporean man of Indian-origin has been sentenced to two weeks' jail for breaching a Covid-19 regulation. Tamilselvam Ramaiya deliberately coughed at his colleagues while not wearing a mask that covered his nose and mouth, despite knowing he had tested positive for Covid-19. He entered his workplace and coughed at his colleagues multiple times, alarming them. He explained it was a "joke" and did not take his positive result seriously. He has been charged with flouting a Covid-19 regulation and faced up to six months in jail or a fine of up to SGD10,000.
