The World Economic Forum (WEF) President, Borge Brende, expressed optimism that India will become the world's third-largest economy soon. He emphasized the importance of continuing reforms, improving infrastructure, and investing in education. Brende also highlighted the need for countries to be allowed to be competitive and purchase what is most relevant for their business. Currently ranked fifth, the Indian economy is projected to become a 10 trillion dollar economy in a decade, surpassing Germany and Japan. Brende delivered his address at the B20 Summit India 2023, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
