India To Include Lab-grown Diamond In FTA Talks: Piyush Goyal - BW Businessworld

Union minister Piyush Goyal announced that lab-grown diamonds will be included in Free Trade Agreement talks. Goyal made this statement at a press conference in Jaipur ahead of the G-20 Trade and Investment Ministerial Meetings. Lab-grown diamonds are now recognized as equivalent to natural diamonds by the global community, including the United States. The Indian government aims to encourage indigenous production of lab-grown diamonds through grants and reduced custom duty rates. Goyal also held a bilateral meeting with the Director General of WTO to discuss trade reforms.
