According to a report, India's e-commerce, retail, FMCG, and logistics sectors will be hiring 700,000 gig workers by November, with 400,000 of those jobs expected to be in South India. The majority of the demand will come from Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The jobs will primarily be in warehouse operations, last-mile delivery, and call centers. This hiring trend is driven by the growth of the e-commerce sector and government initiatives to promote digitization and Make in India. Flipkart also announced plans to create 100,000 new job opportunities.
