India, Sri Lanka to establish high-capacity power grid interconnection - Devdiscourse

India and Sri Lanka have agreed to establish a high-capacity power grid interconnection to enable bidirectional electricity trade between the nations. They have also signed an MoU on cooperation in developing renewable energy to help Sri Lanka achieve its target of generating 70% of power from renewable sources by 2030. Furthermore, the two countries have agreed to cooperate in the development of ports and logistics infrastructure and resume passenger ferry services. The agreements were made during delegation-level talks between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
