Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, discussed the government's plans for infrastructure, road safety, and electric highways at the Business Today India@100 Summit. Gadkari stated that a new expressway connecting Kashmir to Kanyakumari is being planned and that Indian road infrastructure will be as good as the US by the end of next year. He also revealed plans to introduce electric cables on highways and implement the built, operate, transfer (BOT) model for freight trucks to reduce logistics costs. Gadkari emphasized the importance of road safety and expressed his desire to phase out fuel cars within five years.
