Indian multinational Larsen & Toubro's Kattupalli Shipyard has become the first master shipyard in India for US military vessels. The designation follows a five-year Master Shipyard Repair Agreement (MSRA) signed between L&T and the US. The agreement, resulting from the US-India 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue, aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations and supports India's logistics and indigenous production objectives. The USNS Salvor has arrived at the shipyard for repairs. The MSRA is a pre-approval arrangement between the US Navy and private shipbuilding contractors for repairing naval warships.
