Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland has been awarded a $97.5 million contract by the Indian Army to supply logistics support vehicles. The vehicles will be used for towing light and medium guns and ammunition carriage along the Chinese border. The order is part of a rapid procurement initiative and delivery is expected to be completed by mid-2024. The exact number of vehicles ordered has not been disclosed. Ashok Leyland has developed a range of mobility platforms for the Indian Armed Forces.
