India may hire 7 lakh gig workers in H2, says TeamLease - The Hindu

The Indian e-commerce industry is projected to create 700,000 gig jobs by the end of 2023, with a majority of the positions in e-commerce and logistics. Warehousing, last-mile delivery, and call center operators will account for a quarter of these roles. Most of the vacancies will be in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, and there are currently 200,000 open positions for temporary workers. The tech-hiring outlook for Q2 FY24 is expected to be cautious and relatively muted due to economic uncertainty.
