Indian and Russian officials met in Vladivostok to discuss cooperation in Arctic shipping and economic activity. They focused on using Russia's Northern Sea Route and the proposed Eastern Maritime Corridor for trade. India expressed interest in developing the Northern Sea Route and increasing trade through it. Russia highlighted the economic benefits India could gain, such as shipbuilding opportunities. The agreement also includes training Indian seafarers for navigation in Arctic waters. The Arctic corridor would provide an alternative transport route for India, particularly for receiving Russian oil and LNG resources.
