India jumps 6 places on World Bank’s Logistic Performance Index

India has jumped six places to rank 44th in the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI) 2022. The LPI is an interactive benchmarking tool created to help countries identify the challenges and opportunities they face in their performance on trade logistics and what they can do to improve their performance. The index ranks 160 countries based on six key dimensions of logistics performance: efficiency of customs clearance process, quality of trade and transport-related infrastructure, ease of arranging competitively priced shipments, quality of logistics services, ability to track and trace consignments, and frequency with which shipments reach consignees within scheduled or expected delivery times. India’s overall score improved from 3.22 in 2018 to 3.51 in 2022. The country’s highest score was in the area of “quality of logistics services,” where it ranked 32nd globally.
