Bilateral trade between India and the US crossed $191bn in 2022, twice the figure in 2014, according to Jonathan Finer, US Deputy National Security Advisor (NSA). Speaking at the US-India Business Council India Ideas Summit, Finer stressed the importance of collaboration between the two countries in trade, defence, technology, higher education and clean energy. Addressing the defence partnership, Finer said: "We continue to strengthen India's status as major defence partner through defence industrial cooperation that co-develops and co-produces important military capabilities for both of our countries".
