India has a well-timed strategy and the right vision for its aviation sector according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), but it should avoid too many taxes that could end up curtailing the positive impact of increased airport and aeroplane expansion. IATA said that intense competition is required for more innovation, services and lower prices, though it warned against too much capacity leading to financially unviable participants. The Indian airline industry has seen Go First suspend operations and SpiceJet face various issues, while IndiGo and Air India expand their presence, and Akasa Air continues to grow.
