The IMO has adopted a strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from ships. The Green shipping conference in Latin America will discuss the decarbonization of the shipping sector in the region and how to maximize renewable energy potential while mitigating the impact of future climate measures. The conference will cover topics such as IMO's efforts to reduce emissions, shipping as a climate action enabler, decarbonization across the maritime value chain, implementing the IMO GHG Strategy, financing decarbonization, and building partnerships. The conference will be held in Santiago, Chile on August 28-29, 2023.
