How India can become a global maritime power by 2030 - The Indian Express

India has moved up the ranks to 22nd place on the “International Shipments” category in the World Bank’s Logistic Performance Index (LPI) Report 2023 due to a reduction in dwell time at Indian ports. The country has also secured the 38th rank on the LPI score. The improved performance is due to substantial investments in infrastructure in the ports and shipping sector, focus on port efficiency, PPP projects, and a commitment to ease of doing business. The efficiency of ports received a boost with the launch of the National Logistics Portal (Marine), a single-window digital platform. The government has undertaken several policy and legislative reforms to boost the port sector.
