Hapag-Lloyd completes SM SAAM acquisition - Logistics Update Africa

Hapag-Lloyd has completed its 100% acquisition of SM SAAM's terminal business and related logistics services. The transaction, which was approved by antitrust authorities, significantly increases Hapag-Lloyd's presence in Latin America. The acquisition includes interests in terminals in Chile, the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, and Costa Rica. Mauricio Carrasco will lead the new entity as CEO, with Rodolfo Díaz serving as CFO. Hapag-Lloyd also holds stakes in several other terminals worldwide.
