The government in Bengaluru is considering a development plan for Industrial Estates to address infrastructural deficiencies. Minister MB Patil intends to transfer ownership of the estates to industrial unions, with revenue split between them and local bodies. There is also a proposal to establish a Textile Park in Raichur, which is a major cotton market in Asia, and plans to make Raichur a logistics hub. The district is seen as an important commercial hub in the region.
