Global courier company UPS has opened its first technology centre in India, located in Chennai. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the facility and expressed his hope that UPS's presence in Tamil Nadu would provide high-quality job opportunities for the state's youth. The company plans to employ 1,000 people in India by 2025 and aims to prioritize hiring women and individuals from rural areas. UPS has also selected several young individuals for internships at the technology centre under the government's Naan Mudhalvan scheme.
