Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn is considering India as its third global hub for electric vehicle (EV) production. The company aims to supply 500,000 to 700,000 EVs by 2025, accounting for 5% of global EV sales. Foxconn already has a manufacturing unit in Ohio, US, and operates an EV plant in Thailand. Discussions with Indian state governments for an EV plant are ongoing. The company is also exploring the possibility of setting up plants in Mexico, Vietnam, Indonesia and Europe. Foxconn's Indian arm currently produces electronic components for EV two-wheeler companies.
