- The Centre for Business, Industry and Trade Advocacy has written a petition to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industry, saying that cutting subsidies for electric vehicles (EVs) serves to benefit the fuel-based internal combustion engine (ICE) scooter lobby.

- The letter added that the fuel-based ICE scooter lobby constantly complains about the price equivalence created between EVs and ICE vehicles and that recent actions of the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) mirror the desires of the polluting ICE vehicle lobby.

- The FAME subsidy scheme revision came into effect earlier this month, reducing the cap on incentives to 15% from the previous 40% (on ex-factory prices) under the FAME 2 scheme.
