The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) has approved a $115m rail project to establish a multimodal logistics hub in Dadri that will cut the current 4-5 day journey, enabling the smooth transportation of goods and raw materials from Greater Noida to Gujarat, Kolkata and Mumbai within 24 hours. DFCCIL plans to select a contractor through a tender. The multimodal logistics hub is proposed to cover an area of 823 acres and will include warehouses, rail platforms, custom clearance points, cold storage and cargo separation areas, plus a rail yard with 16 platforms to aid the quick transfer of goods by freight train.
