Customs brokers at Mundra port are calling for infrastructural improvements to speed up the clearance and loading of shipments. The Mundra Customs Brokers’ Association (MCBA) has stated that slow clearances and inefficiencies in container movement are leading to increased logistics costs for exporters and importers. They also claim that poor infrastructure, such as waterlogging and muck in cargo transport areas, is causing difficulties for transport vehicles. Cyclone Biparjoy caused a container pile-up at Mundra, but clearances have since been expedited, reducing the pile-up to around 2,400 containers.
