A container terminal at Paradip Port in Odisha has the potential to bring INR 20,000 crores worth of business to the state, according to Jindal Stainless' Head of Logistics. Currently, this business benefits Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. Odisha is the only state in India without a container terminal and relies heavily on ports in Visakhapatnam and Kolkata. The establishment of a container terminal at Paradip would lead to better resource utilization, reduced idle time, increased profitability, and employment opportunities. It would also contribute to India's Net Zero goals by reducing carbon emissions.
