The coal ministry in India is developing a logistics policy and a national coal evacuation plan to reduce costs, according to an official statement. An inter-ministerial meeting highlighted the measures taken by different ministries to improve logistics efficiency in the country. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade called for a dedicated cell to improve performance across all parameters of the Logistics Performance Index and achieve the target of being among the top 25 nations. Efforts are also being made to establish an integrated laboratory network and promote risk management systems for consignment screening.
