The Port of Savannah in Georgia is benefiting from changing supply chain and demographic trends that are directing an increasing share of the US' global container trade to its shores. Georgia Ports Authority Executive Director, Griff Lynch, said demographic and manufacturing shifts in the US, as well as changes in global sourcing, mean cargo will be directed towards Savannah. These trends will particularly benefit Georgia because the state is seen as business-friendly and because logistics operators are increasingly choosing East and Gulf coast ports over the West Coast.
