Bristow Group Inc., a global provider of vertical flight solutions, has secured early delivery slots for five vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) cargo systems from Elroy Air. This follows a pre-order for 100 Chaparral hybrid-electric cargo VTOL aircraft last year. Bristow plans to use the Chaparral for time-sensitive cargo in logistics, healthcare, and energy sectors. The Chaparral is a hybrid eVTOL aircraft that combines conventional turbines and electric propulsion for efficient and autonomous operation. Elroy Air has also developed modular cargo pods that can be autonomously loaded and retrieved by the aircraft.
