Boeing has pledged to invest $100m into India's aviation industry over the next 20 years as it begins working closer with the fast-growing sector to improve current infrastructure and train new pilots. The country, which now has one of the largest air travel markets in the world, recently agreed an order with Boeing for 290 planes. Demand from businesses and tourists has put pressure on air traffic control and airport infrastructure, with 26 new airports under wider regional connectivity plans. More than 400 new employees have already been added to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in readiness.
